Introduction:
Wee-Liat is a tenured Associate Professor and doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University, recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Foreign). He is currently serving as director of the Zhejiang international joint research laboratory, collaborating in the fields of energy and materials. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and his Ph.D. in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (USA), followed by postdoctoral research at Columbia University.
His long-term research focuses on nanoscale heat transfer and thermoelectric conversion, closely aligned with China's "Dual Carbon" strategy, achieving a series of innovative breakthroughs in microelectronic thermal management and energy-efficient conversion technologies. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as Nature Materials, Advanced Science, ACS Nano, and Nano Letters (50+ papers), with multiple articles recognized as ESI Highly Cited Papers, Editors' Pick, and featured on journal covers. He holds 5 patent applications.
An active contributor to academic exchange, he has chaired sessions at international conferences including MRS and ASME and delivered numerous invited talks. He also serves as a committee member of the Thermal Physical Properties Division of the China Metrology and Testing Society and as a Young Editorial Board Member of Materials Futures.
In teaching, he has been honored with four provincial-level first-class courses, Zhejiang University's "Sanquan Education" Advanced Individual Award, the University Teaching Excellence Award (Second Prize), the Young Faculty Teaching Competition (Second Prize), and the inaugural "Pioneer Scholar" title at the International Campus, reflecting his outstanding commitment to education and research.
