May 19 to 22, 2019 China Microwave Week was held in Guangzhou, China, ZJUI PhD candidate QIN Pengfei’s paper, “Research on electromagnetic wave regulation based on metasurface” (Supervisor: Prof. LI Erping and Prof. CHEN Hongsheng), was awarded the excellent student paper of 2019 National Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Waves(NCMMW2019). The 2019 China Microwave Week is consisted of three conferences, including National Microwave Conference, National Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Waves, and IEEE International Wireless Symposium. 1548 articles were received during the China Microwave Week this year, it attracted experts, professors and industry professionals from Britain, Belgium, Spain, India, Singapore, mainland China and Hong Kong and other countries and regions. Qin’s Paper was selected from hundreds of student papers, passed the primary election of peer experts, on-site expert review, and presentation process.

The paper put forward two kinds of microwave millimeter wave band electromagnetic adjustable metasurface material, designed graphene-like metamaterials and simulated the control of surface plasmons by graphene, make the surface wave group velocity adjustable; A sensitivity of 0.78ghz /RIU in the microwave section was achieved on the designed ring dipole metasurface. The new metasurface materials proposed in this paper are expected to be used in microwave millimeter wave waveguide, unidirectional antenna, sensor and other fields.
