Qu Zixuan, class of 2025 in Computer Engineering of ZJUI. As a member of the 6th Presidium of the Student Union at the International Campus, Zhejiang University and one of the founding members of the " XinHai Learning Hub". Qu Zixuan has actively participated in international events, such as the Student Innovation Forum held by Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute and the Dialogue Event with German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck. Academically, Qu has received the Zhejiang University Second-Class Scholarship, the Nandu Innovation Scholarship, and has been honored with titles such as "Outstanding Student" of Zhejiang University. His exceptional contributions as a peer academic tutor earned him the title of "Star Peer Tutor," in addition to being recognized as an "Academic Excellence Model Student" and "Social Engagement Model Student." In terms of competitions, Qu was awarded the Meritorious Winner in the 2024 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) . Ultimately, he obtained exemption from examinations for doctoral program, ranking first in the interview process, and will continue his academic journey at the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University.

Photography has always been a passion of Qu Zixuan. After enrolling at ZJUI, he was immediately captivated by the campus’s beautiful scenery and unique culture. “I often wander around every corner of the campus to capture different views,” he said. “Time and again, I find the campus filled with vitality and vigor everywhere—and there’s a unique beauty in the integration of Chinese and Western cultures here.”

During his photography practice, Qu Zixuan not only frame the beautiful moments of the campus, but also forged a deep friendship with partners from the ZJUI Brand & Publicity Center and the International Campus Student Union. Each news report and each photo gradually broadened Qu Zixuan’s horizons. “In the process of participating in ZJUI’s brand promotion, I constantly absorbed new knowledge and learned to view the world from an observer’s perspective. I gradually discovered the alignment between my own abilities and the development needs of the Institute, and developed a growing desire to translate what I have learned into practical actions that benefit others and give back to society.” It was precisely this experience that strengthened his determination to build a bridge for external communication with culture as a link, and to facilitate ZJUI’s development.

During his time at ZJUI, Qu Zixuan signed up for an exchange meeting between Robert Habeck, Vice Chancellor of Germany, and students from Zhejiang University. “The interview stage required us to express our views on international issues in English—I remember the topic discussed at that time was global climate change and marine environmental protection,” Qu recalled. “Benefiting from ZJUI’s English instruction and international education, I was able to skillfully use cross-cultural thinking to respond quickly, which helped me successfully pass the selection.”

To further expand the inter-university student exchange network and share learning experiences as well as student development practices, Qu Zixuan, as a student representative, stepped out of Zhejiang University and traveled to Sichuan University to attend the Student Innovation Forum themed "Dialogue and Resonance, Jointly Building the Future: Characteristic Practices of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education and Student Growth".He conducted in-depth discussions with student representatives from more than ten prestigious institutions—including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen—on topics such as curriculum design and innovation, and student organizations and activities.

While many of his ZJUI peers chose to pursue studies abroad, he opted to stay in China due to his deep interest in Computer Engineering. The ZJUI faculty and cutting-edge research environment at ZJUI further solidified his decision. Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Hao Yang, he participated in a project on human activity recognition using wireless signals, successfully developing a fall detection system based on CSI signals—his first experience transforming theoretical models into engineering practice. Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Cheng Yushi, he systematically evaluated the defense capabilities of mainstream models, Including the GPT, Llama, and Qwen series—against attacks like AutoDAN, GCG, and Cipher. The study comprehensively analyzed semantic features related to LLMs and proposed a lightweight system prompt protection method based on natural language semantics, raising the defense success rate of major models to over 95%. The findings are currently under submission for publication. And he also actively participated in the MCM/ICM Mathematical Contest in Modeling, winning Meritorious Winner and Honorable Mention awards, and gaining hands-on experience in research methodology and interdisciplinary collaboration. In the 4th Zhejiang University Concrete Dragon Boat Competition, he integrated traditional dragon boat culture with modern motor control technology, further honing his interdisciplinary thinking and practical skills.
