In the afternoon of June 29, Yang Hong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chief Designer of the China Manned Space Program Space Station system, an expert in manned spacecraft system design and engineering management, an Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, and a Researcher of the China Academy of Space Technology, was invited to the third phase of Juanhu International Academician Lecture Hall. Academician Lee Der-Horng, Dean of ZJUI, presided over the event.
Academician Yang Hong, with the theme of “Our Journey Is Starry Universe”, shared the three aspects of “the development of the world’s manned spacecraft”, “China’s manned spaceflight development strategy” and “the spirit of manned spaceflight.” He vividly interprets the spirit of “Two Bombs and One Satellite” and the spirit of the manned spaceflight which illustrates the Shenzhou culture of “putting the interests of the motherland first; climbing the peak of science and technology bravely; zero defect, zero fault, zero doubt; and working together in the same boat”, and shares how Aerospace people can achieve the goal of “seeking truth and pragmatism, keeping sober and facing up to the gap, starting from scratch and success first”.
From the launch of Tianhe core module in April 2021 to the return of Shenzhou XIV on December 4, 2022, China's Manned spaceflight has intensively implemented 11 launches, 3 spacecraft returns, 2 module transfers, 7 astronauts flying out of the core module in 20 months, 12 astronauts from 4 flight crews have continued to reside in orbit, and the crew has completed the first in-orbit crew rotation in China's space station, breaking through the mastery of 8 key technologies such as long-term in-orbit stay of astronauts, space station assembly and construction, and completing the space station on schedule, It has set the fastest record for the assembly and construction of space stations in the world's History of spaceflight, and has showcased the "acceleration" of China's aerospace industry.
At the end of the lecture, audience actively asked questions and participated in the interaction, demonstrating their love for the aerospace industry and admiration for aerospace heroes.
▲ Q&A and interaction during the lecture
As a grand trans-century project in China's History of spaceflight, the Manned Space Program has brought together thousands of organizations and hundreds of thousands of people across the country since its implementation. They formed a strong synergy for a common goal, regardless of fame and fortune, gains and losses. As Academician Yang Hong said, "Build brilliance with excellence, and serve the motherland with success."
The spirit is intangible, but it can inspire infinite power, encouraging people to do anything to achieve their dreams. The spirit of the manned space program is a spiritual monument set up by Chinese Aerospace people on the journey of building a scientific and technological power, a continuation of the spirit of "Two Bombs and One Satellite" and a precious spiritual wealth with distinctive characteristics of the times. It inspires the Chinese nation to strive forward, cross the times and forge ahead. ZJUI faculty members and students listened to the lecture on-site, and were baptized by the spirit, providing a stronger spiritual motivation for building an International Collaborative Education Model.
