The 13th Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility was successfully concluded in Beijing International Convention Center from September 1-4, 2022. This symposium is one of the three flagship international symposiums in the world in this field. Prof. LI Erping was the chairman of the Asia Pacific International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, and the technical committee chairs were Prof. FAN Jun from Missouri University of Science and Technology and Dr. Eun-soo Liu from Singapore Institute of Science. A total of nearly 750 authors from research institutions and enterprises from 19 countries and regions submitted papers, and a total of 200 domestic delegates attended the symposium on site, while more than 3000 people attended online.

In the afternoon of September 2, Prof. ZENG Rong, Vice President of Tsinghua University, delivered the opening speech to officially open APEMC 2022. Dr. Vignesh Rajaman, President of IEEE EMC Society, attended the opening ceremony online and delivered a speech on behalf of IEEE EMC Society. Prof. SU Donglin, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Beihang University, brought the keynote speech of "From EMC to EM Safety - Trends and Challenges". QI Xiaoning, Vice President of Alibaba Group, and Christina Geßner, Vice President of Rohde & Schwarz, Germany, also gave the symposium keynote speeches. The keynote speeches were exciting and covered a wide range of topics, including today's hot topics in electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic environment, electromagnetic safety, electromagnetic standards and testing, and signal integrity of chips and systems.

The symposium finally received more than 300 high-quality papers and abstracts, which were presented to the participants in the form of oral presentations (online & offline) and posters at the symposium. A total of 8 symposiums of well-known national and international experts, 2 industrial forums, 30 parallel sessions, and 3 additional poster sessions were held. These sessions include: Evaluation and Mitigation of Electromagnetic Interference in Broadband Power Electronics Systems, Lightning Physics and Effects, Characterization of Electromagnetic Interference Based on Near Field Techniques, Analysis and Suppression Techniques for Electromagnetic Interference in Wireless Body Area Networks, Advanced Design Automation and Verification Techniques for Co-design of Chip Packaging Systems, EMC Common Mode Noise Related Issues for Anti-static and Transient, Recent Advances in Modeling and Suppression of Complex Electromagnetic Interference in Circuits and Antennas, Frequency Selective Surfaces/Structures/Circuits, Machine Learning Techniques for EMC/SI/PI Applications, Emerging Modeling Methods and Design for Packaging and System Level HIRF Protection, Recent Advances in EMC and Sensing - IHPC FR, Analysis and Testing of 3D ICs and Microsystems & Suppression of Complex EMI, Automotive EMC, EMC Risk Assessment, EM Simulation of Artificial Intelligence, Electrostatic Protection and Standardization Symposium, etc.
Based on this, the "Best Student Paper" and "Best Symposium Paper" of APEMC 2022 were selected. In the award evening held on September 3, 12 young scientists from all over the world were awarded the "Young Scientist Award" in the field of EMC. Among them, Dr. MA Hanzhi from ZJUI won the “Best Student Paper” Award and ZHOU Jiefeng was nominated for the “Best Student Paper” Award.

The symposium is co-organized by Zhejiang University - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJU-UIUC Institute), College of Information Science & Electronic Engineering, Zhejiang University, and Zhejiang Key Laboratory for Advanced Microelectronic Intelligent Systems and Applications, and co-hosted by Beihang University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, IEEE EMC Society, and other institutions.
APEMC has been successfully held 12 times in various parts of Asia Pacific since it was first held in Singapore in 2006, which is one of the three major international symposiums on EMC in the world and the largest, most influential, and most authoritative international symposium and exhibition on EMC in Asia Pacific. It covers many fields such as electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic environment, electromagnetic safety, electromagnetic standards, signal integrity of chips and systems, etc., and pays special attention to EMC issues in emerging and hot technologies. It is based on tradition and possessing distinctive features, facing the world, and innovating the future, providing a broad communication platform for all fields of industry, university and research.
