Dual Degree

Students who are admitted to each undergraduate program, successfully complete the program, and meet requirements of both universities will receive two bachelor’s degrees in their respective major fields: ▪Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign ▪Bachelor of Engineering from Zhejiang University

Top-tier Programs

The programs are offered by the partnership between Zhejiang University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). UIUC is a public research intensive university in the U.S. and a global lea der for engineering education and research.

By introducing top engineering curricula and resources from UIUC, ZJUI dual degree programs will provide a world-class engineering education. The four programs we offer are both advantage programs in ZJU and UIUC. These programs of UIUC were accredited by ABET and stay on the top-tier in United States: Civil Engineering ranked at the second place in U.S., Computer Engineering is 4th, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are both 5th. UIUC has 24 Nobel prizes and 28 pulitzer prizes.. (US News Ranking of 2021) .

Cross-disciplinary

ZJUI creates cross-disciplinary teams, and encourages multidisciplinary cooperation. Three multidisciplinary programs have been set up, those are Program for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable System Sciences, Program for Engineering Sciences for Devices and Applied Materials, Program for Information and Data Sciences. We provide extensive internship opportunities, and emphasize innovation and entrepreneurship. Students generally participate in design and research projects from the first year.

Combined the East and West

We using international curriculum, introduce the recourses and curriculum of UIUC. All the courses will be conducted in English, let the students really immerse into cultural diversity and to become leader of tomorrow with international vision and global competitiveness. For the dual degree programs, undergraduates will have one year exchange experience at UIUC. This is an unique opportunity for students who seek to experience the life in China and U.S..
The International Campus of ZJU, where ZJUI based in, is also the an unique place who has multiple Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institutes and projects, it has a strong international atmosphere and become a global community.
