Introduction:
Bo Zhao is a tenure-track Associate Professor at the ZJUI. Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Dr. Zhi-Pei Liang. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence L. Wald. Before joining the ZJUI, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Zhao’s research lies in the areas of computational imaging and medical imaging with special emphasis on the modality of magnetic resonance imaging. Specifically, his group focuses on developing mathematical models, computational algorithms, and data acquisition schemes to address inverse problems in imaging. His research has been recognized with several awards, including an NIH Pathway to Independence Award (2019) and an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Fellowship (2017). Dr. Zhao has served as a member of the IEEE Computational Imaging Technical Committee since 2020 and he is currently an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Computational Imaging.
