In the scorching summer, the Class of 2021, after completing an intensive English training program, had the first experience of their undergraduate education, i.e. the Program Introduction, Course Selection and Learning Instruction for the Class of 2021.
At 9:00 a.m., August 29, ZJUI Program Introduction, Course Selection and Learning Instruction for the Class of 2021 was held at Auditorium, Teaching Building A, the International Campus. ZJUI Vice Dean Prof. Ma Hao chaired the event, and Dean Prof. Li Erping, Assistant Dean Lu Qiang and Assistant Dean Chen Ying were also present.
This event consisted of two parts. First, Prof. Li Erping made a presentation on ZJUI’s overview and innovative interdisciplinary educational philosophy. Dean Li began with ZJU’s history and internationalization strategy, highlighted the significance of the International Campus in ZJU’s development, introduced the international partner UIUC, elaborated on the innovative philosophy of interdisciplinary engineering education, and guided the students towards scientific understandings of engineering learning in the new era, igniting their enthusiasm for learning.
Then, Assistant Dean Lu Qiang gave the students a program introduction and instructions on course selection. Mr. Lu briefed them on the academic programs and credit structures, provided information on the overview, professor and textbook of each course in Fall Semester 2017, gave instructions on course selection and learning, and offered some suggestions for future learning.
The Class of 2021 also actively raised questions, shared ideas and had lively interactions with the faculty and staff members present at the event.
The Program Introduction, Course Selection and Learning Instruction for the Class of 2021 successfully concluded amid warm applause. While the event ended, the university life of the Class of 2021 just began. We hereby hope every student will face challenges and embrace the future at ZJUI.
