The 2025 IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society Awards Ceremony was recently held during the IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility and Signal, Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI 2025) in Raleigh, USA. Assistant Professor Ma Hanzhi at Zhejiang University–University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI), was honored with the 2025 Herbert K. Mertel Young Professional Award.

The Herbert K. Mertel Young Professional Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the global field of electromagnetic compatibility. Established by the IEEE EMC Society, the award recognizes young professionals who have demonstrated outstanding potential and made significant contributions to the field. It is awarded to only one individual worldwide each year.
