The 2025 ZJUI Senior Design Exhibition was held in the Multi-Function Hall of Guantong College, showcasing a total of 37 projects. Attendees included ZJUI Dean Prof. Lee Der-Horng, Founding Executive Dean  Prof. Philip Krein,  Executive Dean Prof. Jin Jianming, Vice Dean Prof. Ma Hao, Vice Dean Prof. Wang Hongwei, and UIUC Civil Engineering International Programs Director Prof. Erol Tutumluer. Representatives from ZJUI faculty and students, as well as parents of graduates, also participated in the event.

The 2025 ZJUI Senior Design Exhibition featured outstanding projects from the Senior Design course (ECE445/ME470). Students presented their projects sequentially, covering aspects such as project selection, problem-solving approaches, technical solutions, and evaluation criteria. Faculty members from the UIUC delegation engaged in thorough discussions with students regarding key technologies, innovative value, and application prospects, providing constructive feedback on project improvement and future development.

Among the many projects showcased at the 2025 Senior Design Exhibition, the "A Compact Material Modulus Measurement Instrument" received the Best Integrated award, the "DodgeBot System" was honored with Best Mechanically Designed, the "Automatic Page Turning Photocopier" won Instructor's Choice, and the "Automated Guided Vehicle for Cargo Delivery in Factories" was awarded Most Commercializable.

The ZJUI Senior Design Course (ECE445 / ME470) emphasizes cross-disciplinary integration, requiring students from Electronic and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, and Mechanical Engineering to form teams freely. Starting from real-world engineering challenges, students independently conceptualize, design, and build projects. The course aims to enhance students’ technical skills in engineering practice, develop teamwork capabilities, and foster innovative thinking across disciplines, broadening their engineering perspectives and laying a solid foundation for future academic research. A total of 150 undergraduate students from the Class of 2025 are enrolled in this course. The course is taught by ZJUI Associate Professor Hu Huan, ZJUI Assistant Prof. Timothy Lee, Associate Prof. BlakeEverett Johnson, Assistant Prof. Craig Shultz and UIUC Lecturer Arne Fliflet.
