On December 27th, the signing ceremony of the "Industry-University- Research" strategic cooperation agreement and the cooperation agreement to establish a student practice base between ZJUI and Wenzhou Port Group Co., Ltd. was grandly held at Wenzhou Port Group. The ZJUI delegation led by Dean Lee Der-Horng, as well as corporation leaders such as Chen Sheng, General Manager of Wenzhou Port Group, attended the event.
Academician Lee Der-Horng first introduced the discipline, and the industry-university-research cooperation of our institute to Wenzhou Port Group. He stated that ZJUI, as an important strategic educational base of Zhejiang University, has outstanding advantages in fields such as transportation and logistics, electronics and computers, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, such as scientific leadership, technological accumulation, research capabilities, and intellectual reserves. In the context of the new era, with the continuous advancement of building a country with great transportation strength, the "the Belt and Road" and other strategies, the high-quality development of the transportation industry, as the key element of the national economic development, is the theme of Chinese path to modernization. We should have the courage to take responsibility, innovate boldly, and fully utilize and develop the unique transportation advantages of Zhejiang (Wenzhou). To this end, Zhejiang Province actively responds to the needs of the national development strategy, vigorously promotes the development of multimodal transportation, and implements the optimization and adjustment of the cargo transportation structure. The four-port integration system, led by seaports, characterized by airports, based on land ports, and linked by information ports, has emerged. Now, the "four-port integration" has reached version 2.0, and Zhejiang is at the forefront of improving its transportation service system. Such a grand strategic background also foreshadows a vast world. The "industry-university-research" strategic cooperation with Wenzhou Port Group is a key link in transforming scientific and technological achievements, strengthening the close integration of science and technology with the economy, and is a key step in generating new engines, stimulating new momentum, and improving productivity.
Chen Sheng, the General Manager of Wenzhou Port Group, gave a detailed introduction to the group's situation, stating that Wenzhou Port Group serves as the southern regional operating platform of Zhejiang Provincial Seaport Investment & Operation Group Co. Ltd. with "one body and two wings". The company currently has 12 affiliated and entrusted units, employing over 2000 workers. Group’s business involves comprehensive logistics services such as port resource investment, construction and development, port collection and distribution, cargo loading and unloading, warehousing, transportation, cargo handling, tugboat berthing assistance, navigation, as well as the consumption of construction mud and debris. Next, the group will bravely take on the main force of regional hub ports, accelerate the construction of world-class strong port-Jinnan Wing, and strive to create world-class demonstration enterprises. The development of enterprises cannot be separated from talented people construction. They hope that through this cooperation, they can further promote the cooperation with ZJUI in student joint cultivation, student exchange and cooperation, policy consulting, intellectual support, etc., accelerate the industrial transformation and upgrading, and enhance the core competitiveness of Wenzhou Port Group.
