On the afternoon of November 24th, the retirement ceremony for Dr. Lu Qiang, ZJUI's first retired teacher, was successfully held on the first floor of the institute. Dr. Lu Qiang joined Zhejiang University in 1992 and retired with honor in November 2023. After more than 30 years of hard work, he has always adhered to the principles of moral education, instructing tirelessly, and contributed to the education cause with his passion and wisdom. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ma Hao, Vice Dean of ZJUI, Prof. Lee Der-Horng, Dean of ZJUI, and Prof. Wang Hongwei, Vice Dean of ZJUI, and more than 30 faculty, staff and student representatives attended the ceremony.

Prof. Lee Der-Horng spoke on behalf of ZJUI. He reviewed Dr. Lu Qiang's work in the Academic Affairs Office for Undergraduates since joining ZJUI in 2016 and expressed gratitude for his outstanding contributions in undergraduate education and teaching management, training program construction, work mechanism reform, and assistance to disadvantaged students. He called on young faculty members and staff to take Dr. Lu as an example, humbly learn from his dedication to educating people and being loyal to his career, inherit and carry forward his diligent work attitude and rigorous and pragmatic work style, and make more and greater contributions to teaching, research, and education. Dean Lee also stated that ZJUI will rehire Dr. Lu to continue contributing to the institute's undergraduate education.
