Recently, after the selection by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Associate Prof. Diao Ruisheng of ZJUI was elected as an IET Fellow.
It is reported that the Institution of Engineering and Technology currently has over 150000 members in 128 countries worldwide. It is an internationally renowned professional and technical society with professional classifications covering five major industry sectors, including energy and electricity, transportation, information and communication, design and manufacturing, and architecture and environment. It has over 40 professional fields and currently has 167000 members in 150 countries worldwide, ranking the largest in Europe and second in the world. It has an Inspec literature index and over 70 international publications. In its nearly 150-year history, IET has made significant contributions to human technological progress, with a large number of outstanding members emerging. The IET Fellow is the highest academic honor of the IET, awarded to outstanding individuals who demonstrate a high sense of responsibility and achieve significant achievements in the field of science and engineering technology. IET selects approximately 300 Fellows annually, of which 20-30 are selected from mainland China.
Prof. Ruisheng Diao obtained his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2004, M.S. degree in Electric Power Systems & Automation from Zhejiang University in 2006 (Advisor: Prof. Zheng Xu, IEEE Fellow), and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in 2009 (Advisor: Prof. Vijay Vittal, Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, IEEE Fellow). His research areas include high-fidelity power system modeling, simulation and analysis, application of HPC, optimization and control.
