Recently, ZJUI Assistant Professor Howard Hao YANG was selected as the youngest editor at the age of 33 for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (IEEE TWC), which is a TOP journal in the SCI Q1 section. This is in recognition of Assist Prof. YANG’s efforts and academic ability. At the same time, it also fully demonstrates ZJUI’s scientific research strength in the field of wireless communication. As Assist Prof. YANG said, “More than just a surprise, this is responsibility and motivation.” 

In the fields of the wireless network analysis, intelligent edge computing, intelligent Internet of things as well as federal study, Assist Prof. YANG put his heart and soul in the related fields of wireless communication networking. He has published more than 40 international journal papers, more than 30 international high level conference papers, and cany books chapters. The specific research results are mainly focused on the development of models and algorithms, and the exploration of the Internet of Things and 5G and 6G. The fundamental problems and theories in these areas were explored.

Last year, Assist Prof. YANG published more than ten SCI papers with remarkable achievements and high efficiency. "Research reward effort!" All scientific research achievements need to be accumulated. Publishing papers in the early stage is like training, accumulating experience for later papers.  

Assist Prof. YANG has a very international background. He studied and worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States. After graduation, he returned to China. He said, wireless communication is a subject that combines history and future. It is a subject of physics and mathematics. The physics of electromagnetism contains the thick history, while the mobile phone and computer communication is full of the vitality of the future. The collision between ancient and modern can be found here, which is worth further study. 

He enjoys little things in life. In both scientific research and education, we cannot pursue speed. We need to calm down, observe, perceive, discover and think. Assist Prof. YANG persisted in the field of scientific research for many years, and chose the education career to shine. He said, "I like to think and get a result by thinking for a long time. " I am willing to think, and I will try my best to make myself, my major and my students into a thinking triangle. I will do my best in the scientific research and education. 

Instead of blind knowledge, Assist Prof. YANG guided students thinking together, he said: " I will pay more attention to make students understand knowledge." He would try to ask some difficult questions and like to test the reactions. He said he was not afraid of wrong answers, and it was very happy for him to communicate with the students.  

Assist Prof. YANG hopes that he can have an international influence in his scientific research field within five to ten years, and is determined to become a benchmark in the field.
