Tao Xie is an associate professor and Willett Faculty Scholar in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 2005. His current research includes software engineering with a focus on software testing, program analysis, and software analytics. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and an IEEE Senior Member, and has obtained several awards including the 2016 Microsoft Research Outstanding Collaborator Award and the 2014 Google Faculty Research Award.
